Mrs. Marcus and I are just two souls trying to make it through. Mrs. Marcus is not her real name, of course, just a hat tip to a great comedy. (For those familiar with the movie, what does that make me?) The Albatross motif refers not to the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, but actually the real bird. They are an amazing animal, able to go very long distances on very few resources – a good metaphor.
